According to the Independent, Southampton forward Shane Long is a target of Tottenham and Liverpool as both clubs look to strengthen their attacking options in the January transfer window.
The Republic of Ireland international has been in good form this season for Saints, scoring 10 goals in all competitions from mainly substitute appearances.
However, since the injury to Southampton front-man Graziano Pelle, Long has led the line for the Saints much more, featuring impressive performances against Arsenal and Watford.
As a result of these impressive performances, it should come as no surprise to see Long linked with a move elsewhere and the inevitable attraction surrounding the Irishman was always going to come after such a good run in the Southampton side.

Although Spurs and Liverpool are said to be interested, Saints boss Ronald Koeman has previously said on several occasions that he is not looking to let go of any of his players this January, especially with his intentions of adding another striker to the squad this month.
Long joined Southampton in 2014 for a hefty price of £12 million; a price that once seemed fairly astronomical for a player of Long’s prestige. However, under two years on, Saints are certainly reaping the rewards from the 28-year-old’s performances.
Can you see Long leaving Southampton in the summer?
