Could Fraser Forster be set for a start against Watford tomorrow night? Potentially so.
Saints manager Ronald Koeman had said after last week’s under-21 fixture that Forster was likely to play another match for the youth side before he would be considered for first-team selection.
However, Forster was not in the under-21 squad last night that lost to Liverpool and the reason behind him not playing was not injury related. This must mean that Koeman has him in his plans for Wednesday night.

Now, if he is going to be in the squad tomorrow night he will surely be starting. This is because Koeman would want him to play an under-21 match, rather than sit on the bench for the first-team.
Koeman’s decision to put Forster back in could have been rushed after another error from Maarten Stekelenburg at the weekend that saw him flap at the ball and place it straight at the feet of Wilfried Zaha to win the match for Crystal Palace; 2-1.
As well as Forster’s return looking likely, the hamstring injury of Maarten Stekelenburg is set to give the England international even more of a boost as he looks to cement his place back in the side.
Would the return of Forster be a big boost?
