Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has reportedly opened fresh contract talks with the club despite his Saints team being in dreadful form as of late, but has reiterated that there are conditions to the talks and there is no rush to sign any new deal as of yet.
The Dutchman signed a three-year-deal in the summer of 2014, which is due to end in just under 18 months time, but Southampton are said to be looking to pursue Koeman’s reign over the club for a further five years.
However, Koeman did admit that the club’s ambition and ability to keep key players, such as Victor Wanyama and Sadio Mane, will be a key factor in his decision to extend or see out his current contract.

It is true that the club and I are having talks about the future. I have a terrific relationship with everyone at the club. We are constantly in contact and we talk about the ambitions of Southampton and about budgets for the future.
But I don’t see the need to take a decision at the moment. My contract runs on for another year anyway.
Although Koeman has confirmed his happiness at St. Mary’s on more than one occasion during his tenure at the club, lucrative offers from elsewhere could potentially play a part in his option.
Would you like to see Koeman’s contract extended?
