Southampton are being linked with a move for FC Twente’s creative midfielder and captain Hakim Ziyech as Ronald Koeman looks to strengthen his attacking options ahead of the second half of the season.
It has been no secret that the Saints have struggled for goals this season, mainly due to a lack of confidence and creativity among their attackers, but with the January transfer window just a day away, adding a playmaker to their squad would do no harm.
Southampton boss Koeman has already spoken of his desire to add some more attacking talent to his squad and could opt to delve into his former league, the Eredivise.

The Saints have already gone into the Dutch league to seek talent in the last two years and in particular, Ziyech’s Twente. Both Dusan Tadic and Cuco Martina were signed from the Dutch club in the last two seasons and it would come as no surprise to see Southampton search Twente of their prized asset in Ziyech yet again.
The 22-year-old is known mainly for his eye for a pass and his flair whilst on the ball; a quality that Southampton have been lacking in their campaign so far as they find themselves in a lowly 12th place by their standards.
Although Ziyech is a talented player, it would be a risky signing for Koeman and the Saints as at this stage of the season, proven talent may be needed to steady the ship at St. Mary’s; something that could be too much to ask of a 22-year-old from a less demanding league.
Would you like to see Ziyech at Southampton?
