Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has admitted that he is keen to keep hold of on loan defender Steven Caulker until the end of the season amid talk of the England international’s spell at St. Mary’s being cut short.
Caulker has not had a great time at Southampton so far, with performances not being up to the standard that Saints fans would have hoped for and expected, with one in particular coming in their 6-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool in the Capital One Cup quarter final.
Ahead of the January transfer window that will open tomorrow, there have been rumours that a host of Premier League clubs are taking an interest in the 24-year-old, with Norwich, Sunderland and Crystal Palace among those interested.
However, Saints manager Koeman has dismissed talk of Caulker’s loan being terminated when the January transfer window opens.
My plan is for him (Caulker) to stay for the full season and then we will see.
Do you think that Caulker should be kept for longer than his loan at Southampton?
