Southampton are among a host of top flight clubs that are reportedly considering a move for in-form Leeds youngster Sam Byram.
The 22-year-old has been in superb form for Steve Evans’ men this season, playing primarily on the right wing and scoring three this season.
It would come as no surprise to see Ronald Koeman look to strengthen his defensive options in January and in particular, the right back position.
Although Byram has been operated out on the wing, his natural position is on the right hand side of the defence; an area in which Southampton are lacking in depth of quality.

Cuco Martina has proved that he is not really a sufficient back-up for a Premier League side and Cedric Soares is still adapting, meaning that Byram could be the perfect signing for Koeman.
However, Liverpool appear to be leading the chase for the youngster as contract talks with Leeds have stalled.
Would you like to see Byram at Southampton?
