Southampton slumped to their sixth consecutive game without a victory yesterday as high-flying Tottenham were the latest to kill off a hugely under-performing Saints side in a 2-0 victory.
Sloppy defending on both occasions allowed Harry Kane to bully through the Southampton back-line to open the scoring for Spurs, five minutes before the break. However, Mauricio Pochettino’s men were not finished there as just minutes later, Dele Alli doubled the advantage for Spurs due to horribly poor marking and a lack of positional awareness from Southampton right-back Cedric Soares.
Here is how I rated the Southampton players from yesterday’s defeat.
