Southampton midfielder Steven Davis has ordered his side to react in a positive and winning manner against Aston Villa on Saturday after their 6-1 thumping at the hands of Liverpool in the Capital One Cup.
After the footballing lesson that Liverpool gave out to The Saints, the man who wore the captain’s armband has called for a reaction at the end of their three-game losing streak which has followed what was an impressive eight-game unbeaten run.
It’s important we pick ourselves up now and hopefully get back to winning ways on Saturday and make sure we get a reaction and that’s the most important thing.
There’s no positive way to look at it really for me. It’s a hugely disappointing night, a hugely disappointing end result and, as I say, it’s important we just get back to basics maybe and get back to doing what we were good at and make sure we work hard and get back to keeping clean sheets and hopefully winning game.
Do you see Saints beating Aston Villa on Saturday?
