Southampton defender Virgil Van Dijk has claimed that Saints team-mate Jordy Clasie has the potential to become better than ex-Saints man Morgan Schneiderlin.
The Dutch midfielder, Clasie, was brought in during the summer from Feyenoord and had been touted as a replacement for Schneiderlin. The French holding midfielder left Southampton in the summer to join Premier League giants Manchester United, where he is not looking out of place at all.
However, central defender Virgil Van Dijk has said that he thinks his current team-mate has the potential to become even better than Morgan Schneiderlin.
Clasie has had a disjointed start to his Southampton career, having gone off injured on his debut in the Europa League and having to wait until just last month to make his Premier League debut against Leicester.

Since then he has settled into the Southampton starting line-up and is already looking very assured in the side.
Van Dijk said this about the Dutch midfielder:
I think Jordy played very good against Wales and he played very good against Sunderland previously, too.
It was a bit unfortunate he was injured the first couple of weeks, but I think now he is getting to a level that everyone can see why the club bought him from Feyenoord, he is a very good player.
I know him from way back and it is good to have him in the team. Maybe he can even be better than Morgan Schneiderlin.
It is difficult to tell, but I think he can be a very good player for the Saints. Alongside Victor Wanyama I think we have a great midfield
