Reigning Italian champions and Champions League runners-up Juventus are reportedly taking an interest in Southampton’s powerful striker, Graziano Pelle.
The 30-year-old Italian has been in fine form for The Saints so far this season, with nine goals in 17 competitive appearances for Ronald Koeman’s men; a tally that is earning recognition from his national side as well as interest back home.
The 6ft 4 striker has been the figurehead up front for his native Italian national side in his last performances, completing similar performances for the Azzuri as he does so consistently for Southampton with clinicality and a mixture of power and precision that he has adapted to his game.
Pelle, who struck 16 times in his debut season for Southampton, is now a shock target for Italian giants Juventus and their manager, Masimiliano Allegri.
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman, who brought Pelle to the club for a mere £8 million in the pair’s first season at the club, would be totally against the idea of Pelle leaving The Saints, after labelling him as ‘one of the best in the league’.
He’s a very complete striker, he’s not only physically strong, he knows what happens around him, has good technique, is tall but he’s not slow, his co-ordination’s very good.
With these star qualities that Pelle possess shining through this season, attention from other clubs across Europe was inevitable to say the least, however there is no chance that Southampton would let such a crucial player slip between their fingers as they look to press on and achieve another high finish under Ronald Koeman.
