Five players Southampton could bring in on loan from the MLS

Over the last year, it is clear to see that the MLS is swiftly becoming one of the world’s leading football franchises with globally renowned players such as Steven Gerrard and Andrea Pirlo both being two of many to join the league.

During the season, American football takes a little break, predominantly over the Christmas period, meaning that players of all clubs are available for a short loan spell elsewhere outside of the USA.

Few clubs have taken advantage of these players’ availability, but given the wealth of talent that the league now has within its ranks, it would come as no surprise to see an influx of players coming to the top European leagues during the festive period.

I have taken a look at who Southampton should be considering a short term loan move for this January and who could help their already strong squad.
