Southampton forward Dusan Tadic has said that he always knew that Southampton were going to go on and score in the game against Sunderland.
It may not have been the most entertaining game in the world, but Saints did just about enough as they saw off the bottom three side with a 1-0 win.
It was a penalty from Tadic himself that gave the Saints the lead and eventually the win and he has said he never doubted that Southampton had goals to come in the match.
Southampton fans will be forgiven for not thinking it was their day as they saw the opposition goalkeeper make a number of fine stops to deny them, however, they finally go the breakthrough as they were awarded a penalty. Dusan Tadic stepped up and brilliantly slotted the ball into the back of the net.
Speaking after the game, Tadic talked about Saints finding the breakthrough.

I think when you play like this and when you have good ball possession and when you attack all the time, when your rest of defence is really good, I think it just is [a matter of] time when you’re going to score a goal.
I think we were a danger and we should score before.I’m happy, you need always to take responsibility and that’s it. it’s important that we win.
Tadic also spoke on his partnership with left-back Ryan Bertrand and Saints keeping the consistency.
It’s really nice to play with him, I think we really understand good, but I think what was really important was that our midfielders they play a quick ball on the side, then for me and for Ryan it is easy to play and then we can be really a danger.
I think we were more consistent and we were all 90 minutes pushing and knocking on the door.
We really want to win and to score goal and we need to play always like that.
