Following a comprehensive 2-0 victory against a struggling Bournemouth side at home, Southampton are prepared to face the challenge of a Sunderland side who have a lot to prove to their supporters and their manager Sam Allardyce off the back of a 6-2 away defeat to Everton last Sunday.
There were some excellent individual performances last Saturday from players of Southampton such as Virgil van Dijk and Cedric Soares, but there were no real cracks in Ronald Koeman’s side, apart from a very below-par second half showing.
With attacking duo Jay Rodriguez and Shane Long both sidelined still for The Saints and Victor Wanyama missing out through suspension, Ronald Koeman will take almost exactly the same squad to The Black Cats as he did for the game against Bournemouth, but how will The Saints line up?
