Southampton trio James Ward-Prowse, Jack Stephens and Matt Targett have all been called up to the England Under-21’s squad to face Bosnia and Herzegovina and Switzerland in their European Championship Qualifiers this month.
The Southampton men will be hoping to make a contribution to their country’s perfect start to Group 9 so far, with wins already coming against Kazakhstan and Norway thus far.

Ward-Prowse, just turned 21 on Sunday, is set to captain the U21’s yet again in their next two fixtures for Gareth Southgate’s men, whilst Matt Targett will hope to feature for England also.
Jack Stephens, spending his season on loan at high-flying Championship club Middlesbrough will hope to make his first ever competitive appearance for the England Under-21’s side against Bosnia or Switzerland in two weeks time.
Both Ward-Prowse and Targett played full matches in their last two England games in which England won comfortably and will be hoping to replicate as they prepare to take on their next challengers.
Can any of the trio make the England squad in their futures?
