Southampton moved themselves up to seventh place in the Premier League standings today with a 2-0 win over Bournemouth, in what some are claiming to be a ‘South coast derby’.
Steven Davis got the Saints underway, side-footing the ball into the net on the volley after a lay-off from Graziano Pelle found Ryan Bertrand in the box and the England international crossed superbly for Davis to finish.
Saints then doubled their lead through a Pelle header. Dusan Tadic showed great skill to work room for the cross and Pelle out jumped Sylvain Distin to power home a fantastic header into the top corner.
