Bournemouth midfielder Andrew Surman is hoping to make his belated return to Southampton this Sunday – the club that he left six years ago.
Surman, 29, left Southampton in 2009 as the club was spiralling down the divisions and were headed towards League One, however it is safe to say that everything has changed in a turbulent six years since the midfielder’s departure.
The Cherries man spent 13 years with The Saints, coming through their youth academy to be an integral part of their first team, but moved on to pastures new after the club found itself in a sorry state.

Surman has been at Bournemouth for two years now after he was signed in 2014 after an impressive loan spell with the club and he helped them to achieve promotion to the Premier League.
I’m still a Saints fan at heart and although I support the team I’m playing for which is Bournemouth, I’m always looking out for their scores.
The South-African born midfielder will face an emotional return to St. Mary’s this Sunday afternoon as he makes his first return to Southampton in six years, and has admitted that deep down he is still supporting Southampton.
The Saints and their supporters will hope that it is an unhappy return for Surman, however it is expected that The Cherries man will receive a good reception from the Southampton crowd.
