Southampton have tonight reached the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup with a 2-1 win over manager-less Aston Villa.
Maya Yoshida gave Southampton the lead early in the second half, thumping the ball home from distance. Graziano Pelle then scored his eighth goal of the season to seal the win for Southampton. Dusan Tadic clipped the ball delightfully over the defender for Pelle to fantastically volley the ball home. Scott Sinclair then scored a 94th minute penalty to pull one back for Villa.
