After a hard-fought away point was earned against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon in a 1-1 draw against Jurgen Klopp’s men, Southampton will now turn their attention towards their Capital One Cup game against a manager-less Aston Villa.
It is expected that Ronald Koeman will make a few changes to his side that drew to Liverpool, giving a few players starts but not changing too much; as the Dutchman has made his intentions of winning silverware this season very clear, showing how he will take this competition seriously.
However, Koeman will be forced into some changes in his side due to injuries and suspensions ruling out attacking players within his squad, giving some more fringe players opportunities to impress the Southampton manager and stake their claim to feature more throughout the season.
