Southampton head home with a hard-earned point from Anfield tonight as they draw 1-1 away at Liverpool.
In Jurgen Klopp’s first home game in the Premier League with Liverpool; the Reds pushed hard and controlled possession. However, Southampton looked like a constant danger on the break and created a number of good chances in behind the Liverpool back four.
Benteke opened the scoring for Liverpool with a superb header. However, Sadio Mane bundled home the leveller after Gaston Ramirez headed back across goal.
Mane was then sent off in added time after two bookings in quick succession and will miss the cup tie in mid-week.
