Southampton are well-known for their superb young talent and on FIFA 16 it is no different.
Some of the players in this list are not from Southampton’s academy but are still very young, very promising players that are currently at the club.
I will be counting down from the player with the fifth highest potential currently at the club down to the player who has the highest potential out of anyone in the FIFA 16 Southampton squad.
5 – Gaston Ramirez 82:
Despite not being in the first team picture at Southampton and having been loaned out to Hull last season, Gaston Ramirez is the fifth best player at Southampton in terms of potential on FIFA 16. Starting off as a 78 rated, he can reach a high rating of 82.
4 – Cedric Soares – 82:
Joint with Ramirez, Cedric also has a potential of 82. The right-back signed from Sporting this summer starts as a 78 rated, however, has the potential to grow to an 82 and will be a key player for your Southampton FIFA 16 side.
3 – Virgil Van Dijk 83:
Coming in at joint second alongside the next player on this list is centre back Virgil Van Dijk. The summer signing from Celtic has been superb for Southampton in real life and that is reflected in his FIFA 16 potential. Starting as a 77 rated, the Dutchman can reach a potential of 83.
2 – James Ward-Prowse 83:
Joint second with Van Dijk and surprisingly, the only Southampton academy product on the list is James Ward-Prowse. 20-year-old starts FIFA 16 as a 75 rated midfielder and has a very high potential of 83. He will be a fantastic asset to your side if you do a Saints career mode.
1 – Sadio Mane 84:
So, the player with the highest potential of any Southampton player on FIFA 16 is Sadio Mane. No one could argue with this, he is probably Southampton’s best player at the moment and that is certainly reflected in his FIFA self. He starts the game as a 78 rated and his high potential of 84 makes him your most prized player in a Southampton career mode on FIFA 16.
