Plenty of Southampton fans aren’t happy with the club’s decision to allow winger Josh Sims to rejoin Doncaster Rovers on loan.
The 23-year-old has gone back to the League One club this week after also spending the first half of the season with the Yorkshire side, although a host of Saints fans believe he would have been of use to Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Sims came through the youth ranks at St Mary’s after joining from arch-rivals Portsmouth as a teenager and had a decent goals and assists record at reserve team level, although the England youth international has struggled to hold down a place in the first team since his debut in 2016.
Having made 27 senior appearances for the Saints, Sims has been a perennial loanee of late, including a spell in the MLS with New York Red Bulls last season.
This time around, these Saints fans have aired their grievances about allowing the “dangerous” winger to go back on loan to Doncaster and potentially leaving Hasenhuttl short on options given the current injury stockpile…
