Many Southampton fans have reacted to a report from Il Romanista claiming that the Saints made an offer to bring wantaway Roma striker Edin Dzeko to St Mary’s.
The Bosnian is looking for a way out of the Serie A club after a fallout with manager Paulo Fonesca, although it is claimed the 34-year-old has rejected a move to the English south coast.
The former Manchester City man, who won the Premier League twice during his time in England, is believed to have turned down the notion of a switch to Southampton as the club ‘don’t meet his ambitions’.
With Saints strike duo Danny Ings and Che Adams performing so well this season, Ralph Hasenhuttl’s supposed interest in Dzeko comes as a surprise.
Nobody seems more surprised than these Saints fans on Twitter, who have had their say on the target man’s reported Southampton snub…
