Aston Villa have had a £12m offer for Southampton transfer target Adam Webster rejected by Bristol City this week.
According to Sky Sports, Villa have seen their opening bid turned down by the Championship club.

Villa and Southampton have both been heavily linked with a move for Webster, with Newcastle, Watford, Burnley and Everton also thought to be interested in the central defender.
Webster caught the eye with his performances at the back in the Championship last season and is now attracting interest from a host of Premier League outfits.
Villa won promotion back to the top-flight last season as they won the play-offs, beating Derby County 2-1 in the final at Wembley, whilst Southampton finished 16th in the Premier League.
Reports have claimed that Bristol City are holding out for £30m in order to let Webster leave Ashton Gate in the next few months.

The Birmingham striker has been heavily linked with a move to the Saints.
The Algerian international would be a terrific signing for the club.
11 goals and 11 assists for Nottingham Forest last season. He would be a great capture for the club.
