Jupiler Pro League club Royal Antwerp are in the race to sign reported Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers target Zinho Vanheusden.
According to Sky in Italy, as cited by Calciomercato, the Belgian side are looking to compete with Standard Liege for the promising defender ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
Southampton have recently been linked with a swoop to sign the youngster, who is currently on the books of Serie A giants Inter Milan.
Vanheusden spent last season on loan at Standard and earned plaudits for some mature displays at the heart of Michel Preud’homme’s defensive unit.
The Saints could be on the lookout for a new centre-back this summer following their deficiencies at the back throughout the 2018/19 campaign.
Previous reports suggested, however, that any club pursuing a deal for Vanheusden would need to fork out a hefty price, with Inter demanding £18 million.
Southampton evidently watched Standard throughout last season, with the club having confirmed the signing of Moussa Djenepo from the Jupiler Pro League outfit last week in a £14 million deal.

Ounas is a promising player. However, he has not truly received sufficient game time at Napoli, which could see him tempted by a move away.
Lyanco is among Serie A’s most promising players. The Brazil Under-20 international was superb in the recent World Cup and will be hot property following a successful season on loan at Bologna from Torino.
Dragowski is one of the best young goalkeepers in the world. If Southampton sell Alex McCarthy, they will need a backup, as Fraser Forster is a liability. The Fiorentina man fits the bill.
