Southampton considering move for Inter’s Zinho Vanheusden
Southampton are said to be looking at Inter Milan defender Zinho Vanheusden, but face competition from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
That is according to a report in Het Belang van Limburg, cited on HITC, which says the Saints would be interested in taking the promising centre back to St. Mary’s this summer.
The Belgian spent last season on loan at Standard Liege, but is set to return to parent club Inter Milan in the coming weeks.
The 19-year-old has not yet featured for the Italian giants, and looks likely to be leaving on a permanent basis ahead of the 2019/20 campaign with Inter wanting a fee of £18 million.
Ralph Hasenhuttl is said to have placed a new centre back at the top of his transfer wishlist as he looks to put his stamp on the squad.
Wesley Hoedt and Jack Stephens have also been rumoured to be leaving, so reinforcements will be needed.
Southampton have had recent dialogue with the three-time European champions after agreeing to loan Cedric Soares to the Serie A side, which they will hope will give them a slight advantage in the race for his signature.
