Stefano Sturaro’s agent has revealed that Southampton have “had a little thought” about moving for the midfielder this summer.
As quoted by Italian news outlet Il Bianconero, Carlo Volpi – who represents Sturaro – delivered a tentative update on his client’s future as speculation of a move to Newcastle United continues to mount.
It’s been widely reported that the Magpies are leading the race for Sturaro’s signature this summer, as a departure from Juventus appears to edge ever closer.

Volpi, however, insisted that Newcastle are not the only Premier League side in the running for the Italian international. The agent revealed that Wolves and Southampton have considered respective swoops for the player.
Not just Newcastle are on him, but other clubs as well. Who? Ah, you know, for sure, Wolverhampton and Southampton have had a little thought.
Saints are already well-stocked in the midfield options, especially following the arrival of Stuart Armstrong in a £7m deal from Celtic earlier on in the week. This could potentially throw any efforts to sign Sturaro from Juve into doubt.
However, the club have been previously linked with a move for Sturaro, who has often been expected to make the move to the Premier League in recent years.
