The transfer saga surrounding James Maddison is rumbling on, with fresh claims indicating that Southampton have, in fact, made a bid to sign the Norwich City star.
It was reported earlier today that the Saints were trailing Leicester City in the race for the youngster’s signature, with the Foxes having submitted a bid worth around £20m for the player.

However, according to Jacob Steinberg of the Guardian, Saints have also made a bid for the England Under-21 international.

Southampton have been linked with a move for the player for some time now and it seems efforts are being made from the club to fend off competition from the likes of Leicester and Everton for his signature.
Maddison netted 15 goals for Norwich last season and was one of the standout performers in the Championship.
