Leicester make the first move for Saints target Maddison
The race for James Maddison is heating up this summer, as various Premier League clubs are vying for the player’s signature.
Recent reports have indicated that Southampton are currently sat at the front of the queue in their bid to land Maddison from Norwich, but claims from the Telegraph’s John Percy state indicate otherwise.

It’s claimed that Leicester have, in fact, made the first bid in the race to recruit Maddison from Norwich, with an offer worth around £20m made.
Southampton and Everton want to sign the England Under-21 international but it seems they may need to go one better than Leicester, who have expressed a strong interest in signing the player.
Maddison was in great form for Norwich last term as he netted on 15 occasions in the Championship.
Saints remain keen to sign the promising attacking midfielder this summer but if they are to do so, they will need to see off Leicester and Everton in their respective efforts to acquire Maddison.
