Southampton are chasing a deal for Lazio left-back Jordan Lukaku, according to claims from Italy.
Two years ago, the Saints were linked with a move for the defender but no transfer ended up materialising, with Lazio having been keen to retain the services of their promising youngster.
However, it seems Saints have revived their interest in the player. According to a report from the printed edition of Italian news outlet Il Tempo, as cited and translated by Sport Witness, Mark Hughes’ men have joined the race for Lukaku’s signature.

The Belgian international endured a difficult season in Italy. He was used sparingly by Simone Inzaghi and if reports are to be believed, the player is keen to test himself in the Premier League.
Southampton are well-stocked with options at left-back but have seen all of Ryan Bertrand, Matt Targett and Sam McQueen linked with moves away in recent months.
Lukaku, 23, is predominantly a left-back but is capable of playing in a more advanced role on the flank.
