Southampton want to sign Paco Alcacer from Barcelona this summer, according to claims from the Mirror.
It’s claimed that Mark Hughes, who was recently confirmed as Saints’ permanent boss, is a fan of Alcacer and would like to add him to his squad ahead of next season.
Southampton were continuously linked with a move for Alcacer throughout last season and it seems their interest remains strong.

The Spaniard joined Barcelona for a fee worth £30 million from Valencia in the summer of 2016 but has not yet lived up to expectations at Camp Nou.
Despite this, though, Alcacer did well from limited opportunities under Ernesto Valverde last term. The striker scored a total of seven goals from 23 games, with plenty of these being substitute appearances.
Alcacer’s future at Barcelona seems somewhat uncertain at this stage and a summer move away could well be on the cards, with his place in Valverde’s plans for next season currently in doubt.
