Southampton have held talks with Barcelona over a move for Paco Alcacer in January.
According to The Mirror, the Saints have spoken with Barcelona to regarding a move in the next transfer window.
However, the report also claims that Alcacer is not sold on the move and will need convincing before a deal can be agreed.
Southampton and Crystal Palace have both been linked with the forward in recent months, with Mauricio Pellegrino appearing to make the first move.
The striker has failed to live up to the hype since joining Barcelona for big money from Valencia last summer.

He scored eight goals for Barcelona last season but was often criticised by fans for his performances over the course of the campaign.
Southampton are now looking to make the most of the opportunity and bring him to England.
The 24-year-old looks set to leave and Southampton have been struggling for goals.
The Saints have scored in four of their nine matches in all competitions this season – scoring six goals in total.
Ligue 1 side Lille are also thought to be interested in the Spanish hitman.
