Southampton will be forced to smash their transfer record if they are to sign Felipe Anderson from Lazio this summer, according to Italian reports.
On Sunday, the Saints were named as a club chasing the signature of the versatile attacker. Leicester City and West Ham were also cited with interest in Anderson.
Fresh claims from Corriere dello Sport, as cited by Calciomercato, on Monday indicate that although Anderson may be allowed to leave Lazio this summer, it will not be for a cheap fee.

It’s claimed that Lazio are demanding a colossal sum for Anderson and that they have already knocked back a huge bid worth around £33 million from West Ham.
Corriere dello Sport believe Lazio value the Brazilian playmaker at a huge sum worth approximately £43.8m – a price that appears to be well out of Saints’ range.
The maximum fee that Southampton have paid for a player in the past is £19m, which was spent on the addition of Guido Carrillo from AS Monaco in January.
It seems a move for Anderson is doubtful for Saints, unless Lazio drastically reduce their asking price.
