Southampton interested in Felix Klaus

Southampton are reportedly interested in Hannover winger Felix Klaus.

The tricky wide man highly regarded out in Germany and leading news source Bild have linked Saints with a move for the promising German.

The report claims that Saints are joined by fellow Premier League rivals Burnley in their pursuit of Klaus, but are showing stronger interest.

Signed from Freiburg in 2014 for a fee of £3 million, Klaus has continued to display his potential for Hannover and has earned many plaudits out in the Bundesliga.

Klaus has been in good form for the German club this season, notching an impressive eight goals in just 18 games in all competitions from out wide.

The 24-year-old is capable of playing on either the left or right wing and could be tempted by the Premier League if the interest from Southampton and Burnley respectively is concrete.

Although Saints continue to be touted with a move for Klaus, Hannover sporting director Martin Bader denied there had been any contact.

Nonsense. There is no question and no offer for Klaus, either from Southampton or from another club.

The report states that Saints could make a summer move for Klaus, as opposed to a winter move this month, with Claude Puel assessing his options in the long-term.
