Speaking to ESPN, Wolfsburg striker Bas Dost has said that Southampton would be a very good club for him to join, implying that he would be interested in a move.
Bas Dost has revealed that he wants to leave Wolfsburg this summer and wants to move to a club in Germany or England. This means that he is very likely to be available this summer.
Southampton could be in the market for a striker if Graziano Pelle makes his anticipated switch back to Italy. The 31-year-old striker only has one year left on his contract and is keen to move back to his place of birth.
So, Bas Dost could be the man to come in and take his place – if he had it his own way that is. Dost has been linked to Southampton earlier this year, but there has been no serious reported interest to date.
This could change now that the club know he would be willing to make the move.
When asked about a move to Southampton, Dost said this:
That would be a good club for me.
But I don’t know if that club is realistic for me right now.
It’s a nice club, that’s all I can say.
I want to play within Germany or to England.
I want to show what can I do.
Dost has been at Wolfsburg for four seasons, scoring 47 times in 115 games in all competitions.
