A number of Southampton supporters have been reacting to the news that the club has signed a five-year contract with Hummel to replace Under Armour as their kit designers from next season.
Southampton confirmed on their official website that an agreement has been reached with Under Armour to end the existing partnership between them and the sportswear brand. Despite the current clients still having two years remaining on their original seven-year kit deal with the Saints, Hummel will now be able to take over from next season.
Hummel and Southampton already have an established relationship and many supporters of the club loved a few of the kits that the Danish manufacturer designed and produced for them between 1987 and 1991. Many of the kits they produced during that era have become synonymous as classic Saints shirts and it will be interesting to see what their new designs will be like.
Southampton fans react to Hummel announcement
Many Southampton fans were very excited by the “beautiful news”, with many hoping that Hummel can provide more imaginative and more classical designs than Under Armour have been producing over the last few years for them.
THIS IS AMAZING

Great news – Hummel have produced some tasty kits for other teams this season 👌

VERY happy with this. UA have produced dull and overpriced kits and team wear for the last few years, and I’m excited to see what Hummel produce to add a more unique feel to our kit, rather than the generic recycled kits we see so many clubs using. https://t.co/mIdlg6aBCz

Imagine if they bring back 'that' kit. Will be amazing.
