Former Celtic star Rab Douglas has said that he thinks Neil Lennon wants to sign Fraser Forster on a permanent deal in the summer.
Douglas says that Forster has been great for Celtic this season, on loan from Southampton, and that he is certain Lennon will want to keep him at the club.
Speaking to The Courier, Douglas said:
I’m certain Lenny will be looking to get him tied up on a permanent deal. What a loan signing he’s been.
He’s had the big move down south, he’s had the highs and lows, he’s been a £10 million goalie.
His performances since he came back to Celtic have been great.

There has been plenty of speculation over Forster’s future in recent weeks. One report claimed that Forster is prepared to drop his wage demands in order to secure a move, whilst Celtic assistant manager John Kenedy also said outright that the club could look into a deal to sign him.
Douglas has now added to this further by saying that he is “certain” of Celtic pursuing a permanent deal for Forster. It all seems to point to the Scottish giants making a move for Forster in the summer if Southampton are willing to let him leave St. Mary’s.
Should they? Well, Angus Gunn and Alex McCarthy are already at the club competing for the number one shirt. If Forster were to come back into the fold, Hasenhuttl could have to deal with three senior goalkeepers and try to keep them all happy, despite having to leave two out each week. This means that it could be better for everyone involved to just allow Forster to join Celtic, if they offer a reasonable transfer fee for the shot-stopper.
