Championship side Brentford are said to be confident of securing a deal to sign Southampton striker Sam Gallagher.
According to TeamTalk, Brentford are currently in talks with Southampton over a move for Gallagher.
The report claims that they believe they can strike an agreement with Southampton as they look to bolster their squad this summer.
28-goal forward Neal Maupay is said to be on his way out of Griffin Park, with Aston Villa and Sheffield United mentioned as the two clubs interested in signing him.
Brentford are now eyeing up a move for Gallagher as a possible replacement for Maupay, after Wigan backed out of a deal for the Southampton man.
Gallagher was handed a smattering of substitute appearances by Ralph Hasenhuttl at Southampton last season, but failed to make an impact on the south coast.
Southampton are said to be demanding a fee in the region of £5m, with Blackburn also keen.
Players who could leave Southampton this summer
The club need to offload Forster sooner rather than later. He is currently the club’s third choice goalkeeper.
Lemina’s time at Southampton appears to be up after he admitted that he wants to leave the club.
The Dutch centre-back is unlikely to feature under Hasenhuttl next season.
It seems like only a matter of time before Carrillo leaves Southampton permanently.
