Southampton reportedly had a bid rejected by ES Troyes AC for starlet Bryan Mbeumo, as Ralph Hasenhuttl looks to freshen up his squad this summer.
The 19-year-old is also said to be a target for Bundesliga duo Schalke and Wolfsburg respectively, while Ligue 1 pair Bordeaux and Strasbourg are both interested in a move for the attacking midfielder.
Saints boss Hasenhuttl will be looking to steer his side to a mid-table finish at least next campaign, following Saints’ recent battles against relegation in the Premier League, and the Austrian is expected to strengthen his squad further before the 2019/20 season.
Southampton have already confirmed the signing on winger Moussa Djenepo this summer in a deal believed to be in the region of £14million, and appear to be intent on signing Mbeumo as well.
