Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy is attracting interest from Champions League winners Liverpool.
According to The Mirror, Liverpool are keen on a deal to bring McCarthy to Anfield this summer.
McCarthy has fallen behind Angus Gunn in the pecking order at Southampton, with the former sitting on the bench in the second half of the campaign.
The report claims that Liverpool are now looking to sign McCarthy to replace Simon Mignolet, who wants to leave Jurgen Klopp’s side in search of regular game time.
Liverpool sign Brazil number one Alisson from Roma last summer, but The Mirror claim that they were also eyeing up McCarthy at the time.
The Reds may now be coming in for a second time as they look for a capable number two to play second fiddle to Alisson for the 2019/20 campaign.
It is not stated how much Southampton would demand for the former Reading and Crystal Palace shot-stopper.
