Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl could sell one of Ryan Bertrand or Matt Targett this Summer, according to reports from the Southampton Daily Echo.

The Austrian boss could be forced to sell some players this window, to fund his endeavours in the transfer market.

Southampton have two starting left backs, with Bertrand and Targett both being called upon last season for the role.

However, according to the report, Hasenhuttl could be likely to sell one of these, with Saints having depth within their youth academy.

Southampton want to hand Targett more games, after he was limited to only 13 Premier League appearances last season, however, this would come at the cost of dropping Bertrand.

Targett has attracted interest from numerous sides including Aston Villa, whilst there are apparently some sides interested in a move for Bertrand.

The defender, who turns 30 this season, only has two years left on his deal at St Mary’s.
