Southampton are thought to be one of nine English sides keen on loaning Juventus forward Stephy Mavididi this summer.
According to TeamTalk, the Saints, along with Newcastle, Everton, Aston Villa, Burnley, Leeds, Fulham, Derby, and Middlesbrough are all keen on the 21-year-old this summer ahead of a potential season-long loan deal.
Mavididi ended his eight-year association with Arsenal last summer to link up with Juventus’ Under-23 side.
The English striker enjoyed a productive campaign in the Under-23 side and earned a first-team debut back in April in Juventus’ 2-1 defeat to Spal.
Mavididi, who became the first English player since David Platt to play for Juventus, could well be loaned out by the Italian giants as he looks to continue his senior development.
The youngster has previously spent time on loan with Charlton and Preston during his time with the Gunners.
A move to the Saints could be of interest to Mavididi, who would provide boss Ralph Hasenhuttl with another young attacking option as Southampton look to improve on their 16th place finish next season.
Four more exciting young forwards Southampton could target
Manchester United may well be keen on sending Greenwood out on loan over the summer, and St Mary’s could be the perfect destination for the teenager to further his development.
Birmingham’s Adams has been linked with a move to Southampton over the past six months and the Saints look set to firm up their interest over the summer with an improved offer.
Paris Saint-Germain striker Weah spent six months on loan with Scottish giants Celtic last season and may well be open to a Southampton loan move next season to test himself in the Premier League.
If Chelsea decide to send Abraham out on loan next season or sell the forward permanently, a move to St Mary’s could be just what the forward needs.
The 21-year-old would more than likely lead the line and could establish himself as a proven Premier League goalscorer with the Saints.
