Wolverhampton Wanderers have moved ahead of Southampton in the race to sign Bolton Wanderers youngster Luca Connell, according to a report from Football Insider.
The Saints were linked with a move for the 18-year-old during the January transfer window, but no move materialised, with Bolton retaining the services of their most impressive young talent.
Connell has continued to attract top-flight interest, though, and it seems Wolves are intent on landing him this summer.

The midfielder, who is also capable of slotting into a defensive role, has earned plaudits for his displays this season after he broke into the Bolton first team and made 12 appearances for them in all competitions.
Southampton will be hoping that their reputation for developing and integrating youngsters into the senior side will be attractive in their hunt for prospects like Connell, but Wolves appear to be in pole position to pip them for this deal.
Football Insider also notes Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Brighton and Hove Albion as potential suitors for the Republic of Ireland youth international.
