Southampton have entered the frame to sign Charlton Athletic midfielder Joe Aribo this summer, according to Goal.
The 23-year-old has excelled for the Addicks since the turn of the year, scoring in his last four appearances for the club.
Aribo recently helped Lee Bowyer’s side to a 2-1 play-off first leg win over Doncaster Rovers, and is now being monitored by teams in Scotland and France.
The report suggests that Aribo, who is out of contract at The Valley in the summer, is being looked at by Southampton, Celtic, Rangers and Rennes ahead of a potential free transfer.
The powerful midfielder may still yet stay put at Charlton if they secure promotion to the Championship, however, Aribo’s representatives have already begun talks with other parties.
Southampton may see Aribo as a future star, and with the Saints’ recent success of developing young players, the midfielder may be extremely interested in a move to the south coast this summer.
