Southampton will have to pay a fee in the region of €12m to land VfL Wolfsburg striker Victor Osimhen this summer, according to Le Soir, cited by Sport Witness.
The 20-year-old is also being monitored by Javi Gracia’s Watford, Gennaro Gattuso’s AC Milan and Christophe Galtier’s Lille ahead of a possible move.
Osimhen has spent the season on loan in Belgium’s Pro League with Charleroi and has found the back of the net on 17 occasions in all competitions this season, as well as providing four assists.
That form has led to the interest around the talented youngster, with Egyptian club Pyramids FC ready to offer €6m back in January.
However, if any side is to lure the Nigerian away from his parent club this summer, they will have to offer at least €12m.
Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is expected to add to his attacking ranks in the summer, with Southampton scoring just 45 times in 38 appearances in the Premier League.
Five more strikers Southampton could target this summer
The Saints could face plenty of competition for Atalanta forward Zapata, however, the powerful striker would bring plenty of physical presence to St Mary’s.
Birmingham forward Adams has made a real impact in the Championship this season. Southampton were strongly linked with a move for the 22-year-old in January and could reignite their interest this summer.
Frankfurt forward Haller is another realistic option the club could go for. The 24-year-old has 14 goals to his name in the Bundesliga this season.
Another Championship option, Maupay has once again impressed for Brentford. The Frenchman scored 25 times for the Bees and would be a shrewd signing by the Saints.
Scotland international McBurnie is another Championship striker tipped for Premier League football next season. The Swansea City man would bring an aerial threat and plenty of technical ability to Hasenhuttl’s side.
