After impressive wins against Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton, it was always unlikely Southampton would make it three wins on the bounce against Europe-chasing Wolves but that’s exactly what happened.

Nathan Redmond scored twice, either side of Willy Boly’s equaliser, before Shane Long made sure of all three points as the Saints toppled Wolves 3-1 at St. Mary’s on Saturday.

The monumental victory leaves Southampton eight points off the relegation zone with just five games remaining, which should be enough to soon confirm their Premier League status for next season.

It was a good day all around for the hosts as Brighton collapsed to a 5-0 defeat at home to fellow South coasters Bournemouth.
