Inter Milan are eyeing up a deal for Tottenham right-back Serge Aurier as an alternative to signing Cedric Soares on a permanent deal.
Southampton sent Cedric out on loan to Inter in January, but the right-back has struggled to impress since arriving at the San Siro.
According to Corriere dello Sport, via Sport Witness, Inter Milan are scouting Aurier ahead of a potential swoop for the defender at the end of the season.
The report also claims that Inter Milan will not be making Cedric’s loan deal a permanent one, despite having an option in his contract.
Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl made it clear when he arrived at the club earlier in the season that Yan Valery was his first-choice right-back – leaving Cedric with no choice but to leave on loan.
However, he has only made three appearances in the Serie A to date and is failing to nail down a place in the starting line up.
