Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has revealed that he is ready to make some signings this summer as he seeks to create a squad in his image.
The Austrian has been in the dugout at St Mary’s in December, and didn’t make any new signings during the January transfer window, preferring instead to press on with the tools at his disposal.
It seems the 51-year-old knows, however, that he will have to add some fresh talent to the squad ahead of next season as a matter of some urgency.

Speaking to German publication Kicker (relayed by Sport Witness), the tactician said:
On one hand you have to spend a lot of money, and on the other hand, we are a club without an oligarch or sheikh. We saw five players go in the winter, and in the summer, when we will hopefully continue to be first division, we want to balance the squad.
Kicker then floated the idea of Andre Schurrle to Hasenhuttl, who could be available to sign from Borussia Dortmund in light of Fulham’s impending relegation, where the winger is currently on loan.
The ex-Leipzig boss was less forthcoming in that regard however, saying:
I don’t comment on names. We keep an eye on the market.
