Southampton have been linked with a move to sign MK Dons youngster Recoe Martin.
According to a report from The Mirror, they are among the clubs who have established an interest in signing the young striker from the League Two club following his impressive displays at youth level.
The prospect has not yet emerged on the first-team scene for MK Dons but has produced some eye-catching performances for the club’s Under-18 side.
Martin turned heads in his team’s recent encounter with Leyton Orient. He scored five times in just 17 minutes to overturn his Under-18 team’s two-goal deficit, helping them to a 5-2 victory.
The 18-year-old’s future is currently uncertain, and The Mirror reports that he has not yet put pen to paper on a professional contract with his current club.
This appears to have piqued the interests of outfits in the higher tiers of English football. The report states that Southampton, along with Newcastle United and Norwich City, are keen.
