Bertrand and Yoshida back in contention for Cardiff clash
Ryan Bertrand is back in contention for selection, after a lengthy recovery process.
The left-back last appeared against Watford in November, after which it was claimed that he was to receive minor surgery on his back. Three months later, and the defender has yet to turn out for the Saints since his operation.
However, it seems as though he’s getting closer to pulling on the famous red and white stripes once again.
Having resumed training a few weeks ago, manager Ralph Hasenhuttl revealed in a press conference Thursday that the 29-year-old is working towards being able to last 90 minutes in a game.
Adam Blackmore of Radio Solent revealed that Bertrand was back in line for selection, alongside other defender Maya Yoshida.
The Japanese centre-half has been on international duty with Japan at the Asian Cup, where his side were defeated 3-1 in the final by Qatar.
