Sampdoria are set to seal the signing of Manolo Gabbaidini from Southampton on an initial loan deal until the end of the season.
According to Sky Sports Italy, via Football Italia, Sampdoria have agreed a deal with Southampton to sign him on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season for €12m – which they are obligated to exercise.
Gabbiadini joined Southampton in January 2017 from Napoli for a fee thought to be in the region of £15m, but has not lived up to his initial hype.
He fell out of favour under Mauricio Pellegrino and Mark Hughes and has featured once – as a substitute – for Ralph Hasenhuttl.
The Italian international is behind Michael Obafemi, Shane Long, Charlie Austin and Danny Ings in the pecking order at St. Mary’s and looks set to seal a move away from the club over the next few days.
